In 1999, Rongda Poultry Industry and Anhui Agricultural University began the road of independent breeding of characteristic high-yielding layer chickens. After 17 years, it used local characteristic breeds of local chickens such as southern Anhui native chicken, silky chicken, and royal chicken to be selected and successfully cultivated. The "Fengda No. 1" characteristic layer supporting line was developed and passed the national new breed approval in August 2016. It officially became a national new breed of livestock and poultry, filling the gap in the breeding of new national layer breeds in Anhui Province.
